I was very exited to buy this thing to use for a class I'm teaching. But, I tried to use it in class today, and it was not bright enough for anyone to read what was on the screen. It's fine in very low light, but in low to medium light, it's useless. I'm debating whether or not to return it.
On the plus side, it is very small and easy to transport. And, it's very cute. But just not practical.

This projector is not intended to be a home theater projector but I've found that it fits my needs perfectly.
At first I used it mainly for watching movies, the low brightness being no problem as I have it set up in a completely darkened room, using a simple flat white, cotton bed-sheet for a screen.
After about 2 weeks I started using it to play some games, mainly on the PC such as World of Warcraft, Command and Conquer 3, and Oblivion. I have to say that it works very well for these applications, the resolution, being native to 800x600, will cause the individual pixels on the screen to be clearly visible up close, or at some distance if you have keen eye-sight. Having said this, if you have a large screen projected, mine running about 7 feet diagonally, you are most likely a reasonable distance from the screen that this does not matter.
As for movies on the projector, beings that most standard DVD movies are shown at a resolution of, usually, 720 x 480 (wide screen) it is just the right resolution for displaying them. (if HDTV terms are more your liking 800x600 reads as 600P)
All in all I feel that this projector lives up to it's official description and meets all but one of it's promises. The one remaining promise being the only one I cannot vouch for, the 10,000 hour bulb life.
I've had mine for a few weeks now and have put just over 100 hours on it. (easly tracked with the built in timer) if you do the math on 10,000 hours it comes out to about 416 days. far too long for me to have maxed it out yet.

This is a cute and very compact projector, but I think it is mostly a gimmick. It is so dim that the picture is unacceptable everywhere but in a VERY dark room within 4 feet of a highly reflective screen. If you know you'll always be in the dark, and within 4 feet of the screen, and you really need this degree of portability, then this is the projector for you. Otherwise, don't bother, or you'll just end up returning it like I did.
