My boyfriend heard about these on Adam Corolla's podcast so I got him two for his birthday. Every time he uses it he thanks me for getting him such a great present. We haven't had to eat burned meat since we got them! Steaks are perfect now, great grill marks, seared on the outside and rare in the middle. And you can't beat cast iron for cooking: it's the best. This was an awesome investment.

I'm sort of confused by the effusive praise on this product. The good: Cast iron is the way to go for BBQ's. The product is sturdy, heavy, great quality contruction.
My biggestproblem is that they sit on top of your regular grate far from the heat. I have a 7 burner Jenn-Air grill and the mangrate takes a long time to heat and they don't get hot enough. I feel that the steaks are getting gently warmed instead of being seared. I think the product would be much better if they made the grates to fit the bbq instead of the original grates.
I have left my mangrate on my grill and I use it to keep my food warm while I use the rest of the grill to keep cooking.

Love my Mangrates!! Specifically, We frequently cook burgers with bacon and cheese mixed in the meat. I used to get flair ups that would burn the burgers. With the mangrates, I heat the grates up hot...turn the burners down...and the burgers come out juicy and fantastic! Great product all around.
