Nice and simple design and just the right size my entryway. Color has a deeper red than the photos show. The package was pretty banged up when it arrived but there was no real damage to the table itself.

The overall design of this furniture is great -- and when assembled it is sturdy and stable. However, the quality of the finish is very poor. While some pieces, including the lower shelf, have a good finish, the top piece of the table had significant imperfections (ok, really obvious knot holes and flaws) that were poorly patched and stained. Furthermore, the final finish coat on the tabletop was quite poor -- with areas of rough, poorly sanded edges and flat gaps of missed lacquer.

The overall size and shape of the piece is great, the stability is fine, but unless you are putting it into a dark hallway with no direct light on it, the poor finish quality may be a real problem for you.

After reading the reviews I knew to expect a few imperfections in the table and I was not disappointed. Large rough spot on the top and a few nicks in the legs but thankfully they are not too noticeable. Good item for the price.
